Karyn Frazier
Associate Pastor
Karyn earned her M.Div. from Seattle University in 2018 and was ordained in 2019, all of which she accomplished while directing our dynamic learning ministry for all ages. With a degree in secondary education from UC Berkeley and graduate studies at UCLA, she taught for many years before coming to “a Spirit-led bend in the road.”
While lay minister for Christian education here and at prior churches, she became a pro at creating captivating children’s sermons and leading worship services, retreats, and service projects. This mother and grandmother takes on the occasional grand adventure to keep leaning on life’s boundaries, from climbing Mt. Rainer to witnessing on behalf of immigrants and asylum seekers at the southern border.
“If you are looking for a faith community that also likes to lean on its boundaries, you’ll find it here. Every Sunday morning we start by affirming, ‘Whoever you are and wherever you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here’ and we mean it! As all ages gather for worship and the choir’s anthem reaches the rafters, the Spirit of love and hospitality moves from sanctuary to Sunday school rooms, around youth and study groups, and out the door into the community, richer and more visible in our service to God’s wider world.”
